Create a “living lab” that invites visitors to build empathy for the river, meet scientists, and participate directly in mussel breeding and restoration projects. Working with Habithèque Inc., we designed a mix of hands-on activities, interactive media, science tools, live displays, and environment-elevating artworks. This combination creates a view of natural science that is current, emotionally impactful, and evolving. Since opening, this award-winning demonstration project has led to funding of a larger Floating Wetland Laboratory on the Schuylkill River.
